About us

Handspring has set out to rebuild the pediatric behavioral health system from the ground up. We are a team of diverse, mission-driven, and passionate individuals dedicated to making quality mental healthcare accessible to all young people.

We're hiring a New York-licensed Child & Adolescent Mental Health Therapist for a remote position at Handspring.

What you’ll do

  • Work a base schedule of 30 hours a week, including: 

    • 20 hours dedicated to therapy sessions (scheduling 20 clinical sessions)

    • 10 hours dedicated to individual and group consultations, clinical notes & documentation, and other administrative tasks

    • Clinical hours can be between 3:30pm-8:30pm est, Monday-Friday

    • You’ll be able to utilize Saturdays for clinical sessions, if preferred (9am-1pm est)

  • Provide weekly psychotherapy using CBT and other evidence-based practices to children ages 8-17 and young adults over age 18 years

  • Participate in weekly 1-on-1 case consultations, weekly team consultations, peer-only huddles, and ongoing professional development programming. These programs offer opportunities for you to engage and collaborate with other therapists

  • Complete clinical notes and documentations in a timely manner

  • Communicate with your client’s pediatricians, school counselors, and other members of their family, as needed

Who we are looking for:

  • Licensed mental health professionals with at least 3 years post-graduate experience providing psychotherapy

  • Active unrestricted license in New York

    • Required license types: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

  • Ability to work independently with a strong interest in collaboration and learning

  • Clinical experience working with young people and their families

  • Knowledge of and/or some training in evidence based mental health treatments

  • Comfort with using and learning new technologies, including Zoom, Office, electronic health record systems, and other team collaboration tools

Compensation:

  • You will be a W2 employee with a minimum guaranteed salary, and an opportunity to earn a total compensation between $60,000 and $97,000 a year. 

    • You will earn a base salary of $60,000 - $67,000 annually (30 hours / week, including 20 clinical sessions). 

    • You’ll have the opportunity to increase your caseload and earn up to an additional $30,000 annually as part of our incremental compensation program based on additional clinical sessions completed. This is optional.

    • Base salaries are determined by years of licensure, place of residence, and years of pediatric mental health experience

  • You’ll be eligible for annual salary increases

  • You’ll earn recurring retention bonuses
