Job description

Summary

Yelp is the ultimate guide to local living, connecting people with great businesses in their neighborhoods. With hundreds of millions of users and an equally vast number of businesses, Yelp boasts a robust ecosystem that thrives on community connections.

Ads are the primary driver for Yelp revenues, and we are looking for a PM Leader to oversee our On-Yelp Ads products and initiatives. In this highly visible and impactful role, you’ll be responsible for product areas that enhance the advertising value of our marketplace for both local businesses and users. Your leadership will drive innovation and growth, making a significant contribution to Yelp's success.

Want to help local businesses thrive? Join us to develop innovative ad solutions that connect customers with their ideal local business. Let's shape the future of local advertising together.

This opportunity is fully remote and does not require you to be located in any particular state within the US. We welcome applicants from throughout the US. We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the end-to-end product management of the On-Yelp Ads product.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy encompassing targeting, ad quality, ad formats, auction dynamics, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to articulate a compelling product vision. Transform these ideas into well-defined projects, prioritize effectively, and lead the team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Drive product concepts from inception to launch, including validation, release, measurement, and iterative improvement.
  • Manage a team of Product Managers while fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
  • Contribute to the broader Yelp business beyond your core responsibilities with your strategic and organizational leadership.
  • Foster and build a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp’s values.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • We seek a product management leader with several years of experience in successfully launching products or platforms. Preferred experience leading ad product development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ad algorithms, machine learning, pricing strategies, and consumer products.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with designers, data scientists, engineers, researchers, and cross-functional partners in sales, strategy, finance, and marketing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with a strategic mindset.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for various audiences.
  • Experience navigating complex organizational structures and driving business impact.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage a product portfolio, and balance short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Experience managing and developing product managers.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent work experience is required.

What You'll Get

  • Compensation range is $188,000-305,000 annually. You may also be offered restricted stock units and benefits.
  • This opportunity has the option to be fully remote in all locations across the US.
  • You can find more information about Yelp's five star benefits here!
