Our client, a world leader specialising in Partial Discharge Technology, is expanding rapidly across the SEA region and is seeking a capable Technical Sales Manager to join their team in Malaysia.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Sales Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our client's product range within the assigned region. You will be responsible for managing both direct customers and sales channels, identifying new opportunities for growth, and collaborating effectively with international teams. Your ability to provide exceptional technical and commercial support will be crucial in promoting the company's products, ensuring business growth, and enhancing sales channel performance. Furthermore, your skills in relationship building will enable you to foster effective collaborations with partners and customers alike. Leading after-sales activities will also fall under your remit, assuring that all customer requests are handled efficiently.

  • Manage sales channels (Distributors) and direct customers in the assigned region
  • Identify and develop new Sales Channels in targeted markets
  • Collaborate with International Sales team and offshore Sales Offices
  • Provide technical and commercial support
  • Promote and actively support the sales of company’s products by conducting regular visits to key customers
  • Ensure business growth by achieving or exceeding budget targets for the assigned market
  • Monitor and enhance performance of Sales Channels
  • Build/develop relationships and effective collaboration with sales channel partners and customers
  • Assure the handling of requests, issue quotations, and contract reviews according to defined standards and procedures
  • Lead after-sales activity for the region

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for this Technical Sales Manager position brings a wealth of experience from an international sales role within the electrical rotating equipment industry. You possess a BSc in electrical engineering or a relevant qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline. Your knowledge of partial discharge will be highly advantageous. You have proven experience managing distribution channel partners and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills at all organisational levels. Your ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English, along with proficiency in local languages, will be key to your success in this role. Additionally, you are proficient in Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and ideally CRM solutions.

  • BSc in electrical engineering or relevant qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline
  • Knowledge of partial discharge desirable
  • Experience in the electrical rotating equipment industry
  • Experience of working within international sales role
  • Experience of managing distribution channel partners
  • Good interpersonal skills at all organisational levels, internal and external
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English; proficiency in local languages is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages Excel, Word and PowerPoint etc., ideally CRM solutions
