Role: NZ (New Zealand) Senior Tax Accountant

Work Arrangement: Work from Home

Location: Philippines-CS Everywhere

Schedule: Morning shift


Job Description:

Senior Tax Accountant:

This position will enable you to work on a wide portfolio of clients including SMEs, trusts, partnerships, and companies across a broad range of industry sectors within a virtual team or a permanent placement with an office location virtually.


Responsibilities include:

  • Tax knowledge including preparation of tax returns, activity statements, latest NZ tax rules
  • Preparation of work papers and reconciliation to financial statement stage
  • Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and other lodgements for companies, partnerships, trusts and a range of individual businesses to a complex level (including large groups, inter-entity reconciliations etc.)
  • Assist clients with tax planning, FBT, payroll tax and STP;
  • Business advisory projects such as budgets, cashflows, management reporting;
  • Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with Company compliance requirements


Qualification and requirements:

  • Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.
  • Completed or working towards completion CA / CPA.
  • At least 5 years of proven accounting & taxation experiences within New Zealand
  • Thorough understanding of New Zealand and/or taxation legislation, including but not limited to GST, FBT, CGT, Division 7A
  • Strong commercial acumen paired with sound technical accounting and analytical skills
  • Ability to be able to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Experience with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, Quickbooks
  • Experience with Reckon APS program (desirable)
  • Proficient English writing and verbal skills
  • Excellent communication skills with strong relationship and stakeholder management
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise your workload
  • Collaborative, team player who understands the importance of building strong internal relationships across the wider company business.
  • Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics
  • Pass the pre-screening requirements
