Job description

We are looking for a precise and dedicated Transcriptionist to join our team. In this role, you will listen to audio recordings and convert them into accurate, written documents while ensuring clarity and proper formatting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately transcribe audio recordings into written text. This includes converting interviews, meetings, speeches, and other audio content into clear, readable documents.
  • Ensure that transcriptions are formatted according to client specifications or company standards. This includes proper punctuation, grammar, and consistent formatting.
  • Utilize strong listening skills to understand and transcribe various accents, speech patterns, and audio quality. Ensure that the transcriptions are as close to the original audio as possible.
  • Review and edit transcripts to correct any errors or inaccuracies. Verify that the final document is error-free and maintains the intended meaning of the audio content.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion. Adhere to privacy policies and ensure that all client or company information is protected.
  • Manage transcription workload efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining productivity. Prioritize tasks effectively to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Use audio editing software, if needed, to enhance audio quality or clarify speech before transcription. Report any issues with audio quality to the appropriate parties.
  • Communicate with clients or team members to clarify any unclear sections of audio. Provide updates on transcription progress and address any queries or concerns.
  • Follow specific transcription guidelines or style guides provided by clients or employers. Adjust transcription style to meet varying requirements.
  • Seek feedback and implement suggestions for improving transcription accuracy and efficiency. Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in transcription.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a transcriptionist or in a similar role. Familiarity with various transcription software and tools is preferred.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy. Strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Exceptional listening skills with the ability to transcribe audio with varying accents and levels of clarity.
  • Proficiency in using word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs) and transcription tools or software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with data protection and privacy regulations is a plus.
