Program Description

Longroad Energy’s internship program provides opportunities for undergraduate students from underrepresented communities to explore careers in renewable energy. In 2025, Longroad is offering paid internship positions that create challenging hands-on learning experiences for college juniors, entering their senior year in the Fall. Selected interns will participate in a 10–12-week summer program that includes onboarding, structured work experience, mentoring, and exposure both to department-specific and company-wide personnel and activities.


Job Purpose

The Operations Engineering Intern will work with Longroad’s engineering team to support them in day-to-day tasks related to operation, optimization, and maintenance of solar and wind projects.


Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Projects include analyzing operating data to identify performance anomalies
  • Forecasting future project performance
  • Employing analysis to determine equipment lifespan.
  • Assist in determining best course of action for expected component lifespan.
  • Additional projects would include helping to standardize business processes along with developing and maintaining code-based projects on cloud services.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate student at a 4-year college, preferably in an Engineering, Computer science, or other STEM-related major.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft suites
  • Experience with coding in at least one programming language
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Ability to communicate technical details effectively
  • Interest in renewable energy industry.
