Your missions

Who we are:

Swat.io is a Software-as-a-Service product that supports marketers in Social Media Publishing and Community Management. We are proud to be an independent and self-financed product-led company and hence focus on building a product that users actually love.

With our Social Media Management tool, we enable, among others, NGOs, Newspapers, and Public Transportation Services, to manage their Social Media channels in one place.

Today, our goal is to reach a 10 million ARR, all while prioritizing quality over quantity, bringing exceptional team members aboard, and fostering a remarkable culture. Revenue follows quality - not the other way around.
Who you are:
You'll join our 4-person Product team alongside another talented UX/UI designer and will play a crucial role in improving and enhancing our users' experience. With your experience and understanding of user behavior, you’ll design intuitive user interfaces, based on research and current trends.
Purpose of the role

In this role, you'll be expected to drive and own the entire project lifecycle from start to finish, leveraging our established design system. You'll be trusted to take full ownership of the process and deliver high-quality outcomes. That will include:

  • Design and create unique, intuitive user interfaces and experiences

  • Lead research efforts to evaluate user needs and the user-friendliness of our products, providing valuable insights to the product team and the entire company

  • Create prototypes for new user interfaces to qualitatively test and improve design concepts before moving them into development

  • Play a significant role in the entire product lifecycle, from idea generation to the development

  • Integrate your deep understanding of common web technologies and UI guidelines into our development process, ensuring seamless and user-friendly product outcomes

  • Justify your design decisions within the teams and actively promote them during the development process

  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers and other teams to create new features and ensure Know-how transfer

  • Leverage and continuously improve our design system, streamlining processes and making everyone's work more efficient

Due to the internal role transfer of one of our UX/UI designers into another role, this position is now open.

Are you ready for this?

We define ready as

  • You bring several years of professional experience as a UX/UI Designer

  • You bring a proven track record of leading user research initiatives and supporting design decisions with data-driven insights

  • You bring knowledge and experience with software development processes

  • You have experience prioritizing your backlog in a fast-paced environment and ensuring the proper allocation of assigned resources

  • You have excellent communication skills and experience in working closely with development team and product owners

  • You can drive workflows with a high level of self-responsibility and reliability

  • You are confident in taking responsibility, making decisions and stand behind them

  • You have excellent English language skills

Nice-to-haves:

  • German Skills

  • Technical understanding/technical background

  • Experience with social media platforms and SaaS products

Don’t worry if you don't meet all qualifications. If this opportunity catches your eye and you are passionate about the field of work, we are happy to receive your application. If we both think we are a good match, and team fit is as important to us, as a technical fit, we will find a solution and grow together.

Our stack/How we work:

Tools we use:

Figma, Notion, Adobe CC, Linear, Maze, PostHog, Product Board, Google Suite, Slack, Around

How the Product team works:

We keep our processes agile with needed fixed points such as weekly team meetings, and retrospectives. Ad hoc communication is mostly done via Slack and video calls via Around. For important topics, we hold workshops and take every chance to meet in the office.

Product Unit Guiding Principles

Iterate Agilely:

  • We prefer small iterations over waterfall.

  • We ship often & early.

  • We embrace continuous change.

Simplicity Wins:

  • Simplicity is in our DNA

  • No project is too small, but there is definitely a „too big“.

  • We value clear and simple design.

  • Simplicity also means no technical debt.

Collaboration First/ one for all, all for one:

  • Arguments before ego.

  • We are one team that supports each other.

  • We are managers of ourselves.

Data-Driven Excellence:

  • Data is a strong argument.

  • Challenge the status quo.

Positive Team Culture:

  • We are good & fun people.

  • We assume the best intent.

  • We give feedback because we care about each other.

What you’ll find:
  • Hybrid work mode: You can comfortably work full-remote and/or from our Vienna office. Whatever works best for you, as long as you are in the Central European Time zone plus or minus 2 hours

  • An exciting area of responsibility with high autonomy and room for personal growth

  • Space for your own ideas and improvements to our product

  • Generous annual educational budget

  • We support family leave for all parents and guarantee the same job upon your return

  • Top-notch MacBook Pro

  • First-class equipment for your home or office workspace with perfect access to public transport (U4, U6) & the Vienna bike network (Vienna, Austria)

  • Permanent contract with a gross annual salary starting from EUR 54.600,- for a 38.5-hour work-week (depending on your individual experience, there is of course a willingness to offer a market-conforming overpayment)

  • Team activities, internal knowledge sharing, and company events where all Swaties from around the world come together and celebrate

  • If you work in Austria, we support an annual pass for public transportation (Vienna Lines) or a part of the climate ticket

  • The preferred starting date: is now, but we are ready to wait for our perfect candidate ;)

We are proud to have an inclusive workplace environment that will foster your development no matter your gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, education level, or race.
What you won’t find at Swat.io:
  • Annoying micro-management

  • Office politics

  • Lengthy coordination and approval processes

  • Monotonous tasks and boring work

  • Egos and bullshit before real results
