Genesis10 is seeking a ITS Software Engineer for a contract with our client in Kansas City, MO. 100% Remote.
Job Description:
You will be joining our ITS Application Development team and assisting our ongoing efforts to move the legacy application to the cloud. In support of our cloud journey, your role will have opportunities to learn about our existing application, collaborate, trouble shoot, and execute on efforts that allow for the replacement of legacy functionality with equivalent cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applies the principles of software engineering to the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of solutions in support of applications, databases, test automation tools, and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.Demonstrates technical skill in at least one programming general purpose language (Java, C#, Python, etc.) and domain specific language (HTML, SQL, proprietary vendor language, etc.), as needed.
- Performs peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.
- Partners with customers in the development of innovative solutions that achieve business goals.
- Reviews and analyzes business and technical requirements and implements technical solutions to meet those requirements.
- Provides on-call support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service request management for supported products and environments
Required Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires at least 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
- Languages: Java, SQL, Python, Shell Scripting.
- Frameworks/Libraries: AWS SDK, Spring, Maven.
- AWS Services: ECS, S3, IAM.
- Software: Docker, Gitlab, IntelliJ IDE.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Grafana/OpenSearch experience (or other monitoring/alerting tool).
- Experience implementing/following security controls in a security-sensitive environment (from a government agency or other company with a well-defined security posture).
- Experience with security tools and remediating vulnerabilities (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, etc.).
Compensation:
Hourly W2 pay rate $
