Description

As legal and judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions is a leader in providing transcription services across various industries. We are currently searching for experienced legal/judicial contract candidates with significant experience transcribing depositions and hearings in a 100% remote capacity for independent contractors.

This role focuses on transcription of depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, requiring intense attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. You will process audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts.

As an independent contractor with VIQ Solutions, you can set your own schedule and will receive guidance from our supportive in-office team when needed. We offer work availability 24/7/365 to fit diverse schedules; those with weekend availability are encouraged to apply.

Skills Required

Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription
Excellent listening skills
Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides
Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar
Ability to collaborate remotely
Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy
Ability to process extreme audio/text content (content may be offensive)
Ability to pass a background check
Familiarity with legal terminology
Court reporting students will also be considered
