Your missions

Description

We are looking for a skilled Actuary, Model Validation professional to develop and maintain Microsoft Excel-based model validation tools for various products and use cases. These tools are crucial for our governance process, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing them effectively. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to improve processes by incorporating additional applications when possible.

In this role, reporting to the AVP of Model Validation, you will lead a small team of 1-2 actuarial professionals, overseeing their development and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement necessary changes to Corporate AXIS models used for pricing, inforce management, asset-liability management (ALM), and valuation.
  • Independently update Microsoft Excel validation tools to reflect these changes while utilizing model change management controls and efficient programming practices.
  • Ensure validation tools are developed and maintained in a streamlined and effective manner.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Corporate AXIS model validation tools, providing technical support and training to both internal and external actuarial users.
  • Drive process enhancements to ensure repeatable, scalable solutions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation to support transparency and consistency in the model validation process.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture within the team.
  • Lead and mentor actuarial staff, supporting their professional growth while achieving team objectives and maintaining a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • FSA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related actuarial experience.
  • Strong understanding of US Statutory and US GAAP reporting is preferred.
  • Experience with Fixed Indexed Annuities, Registered Index-Linked Annuities, Indexed Universal Life, or reinsurance preferred.
  • Proficiency with AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software is a plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with programming languages such as VBA, Python, or R is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to analyze complex situations and apply actuarial principles effectively.
  • Integrity and a commitment to delivering accurate, timely results.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing key decisions and collaborating effectively.
  • A self-starter who thrives in dynamic, challenging environments.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary (less than 10%).
