Would you like to use your finance experience in a highly visible role to make a difference? We are looking for a Sr. Accountant, SEC Reporting to join our Corporate Finance team! Reporting to the Sr. Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, the Sr. Accountant, SEC Reporting will help develop and complete critical steps in the Company’s external financial reporting process and various accounting processes. This role is responsible for helping prepare the Company’s SEC reporting (Form 10-Q and 10-Ks), researching guidance on technical accounting matters, and preparing other financial reports in compliance with overall SEC reporting requirements and operational procedures. Success in this role requires being driven and innovative, with a strong work ethic and a leadership style characterized by a straightforward style, approachability, a team orientation, and collaboration!

 

This position can be based in Rhode Island or remotely in the US and requires the ability to work Eastern Time hours and approximately 25% travel to our office in Rhode Island.

 

A day in the life of the Sr. Accountant, SEC Reporting:

  • Support the Company’s external financial reporting process, including the preparation of external financial statements and disclosures as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (Form 10-Q’s, Form 10-K’s, and Form 8-K’s).
  • Support a continuous improvement by reviewing current processes and helping to suggest areas of improvement to facilitate a more efficient SEC and financial reporting process.
  • Monitor and remain informed on new and proposed accounting and regulatory developments and evaluate their potential effect on the Company and its financial statements, including but not limited to items issued by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB.
  • Work with the finance organization to ensure the Company’s compliance with generally accepted accounting principles by consulting on issues and through technical accounting and reporting training.
  • Conduct research and analysis of complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to management.
  • Perform analysis and special projects, as required.
  • Support SOX compliance and assist in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
  • Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting implications.
  • Complete ad hoc projects assigned by senior management, including analysis of business operations, proposed accounting treatment of significant or unusual transactions, or other accounting and finance-related matters.

 

What you’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Experience with SEC reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range: $81,000
  • Pay Range End: $134,000
