Job Description:

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support current state evaluation, system migration impact assessment, and requirements analysis that target Data Centre migration and transformation. This role will provide structured analysis and execution support that may impact people, processes, and technology changes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide core support to teams supporting a Data Centre Transformation initiative. These range from early-stage scope planning, analysis, and documentation to support the design/redesign of data center foundational systems/structure, system/application migration/decommission, operational support, and a variety of other analysis or team needs as required. The analyst will operate within either a waterfall, agile environment, or a hybrid environment, and requires close collaboration with both internal and external vendor stakeholders.

• Partner with the Product owners/Business leads/Project Managers on road mapping, stakeholder engagement, scope management, and prioritization.

• Build and execute a solid business analysis (BA) approach to elicit, analyze, and document/refine detailed user needs in user stories or other supporting artifacts as appropriate (working with internal stakeholders, vendors, other agile teams, etc.).

• Support in detailed system and user analysis needs and gaps and ensure proper documentation.

• Support in current/future process definition and mapping of user and player experience.

• Support the development team to understand needs and dependencies.

• Facilitate to guide conversations (requirement sessions, refinement meetings, sprint planning, retro, standup, etc.).

• Conduct technical operational support and troubleshooting as needed to support the product area.

• Provide proactive support to assigned teams.

• Advocate for BA best practices.

• Provide regular status and issues reporting to the Capability Manager, Project Manager, PO.

• May be required to learn basic knowledge of other capability areas in the team and/or systems where needed to support the team.

• Other tasks as reasonably required by the Capability Manager, Project Manager, PO.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Knowledge of IIBA Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) knowledge areas and techniques.

• 6+ years of dedicated BA experience at the Senior level.

• Experience working with business users and subject matter experts to produce comprehensive requirements, gap analysis, current and future state design, and other analyses.

• Certifications preferred: CBAP, Six Sigma, PMP, ScrumMaster, or Product Owner certification.

• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

• The company has an existing (at the time of submission) and ongoing contract with the Candidate

Preferred qualifications:

• Solid skills in eliciting, creating, and managing requirements, gained through applied work

experiences (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban).

• Process modelling.

• Workshop planning and facilitation.

• Business case development.

• Expertise in collaborating and managing successful delivery with external IT development partners.

• Intermediate to expert users of Visio, JIRA, and Confluence.

• Exceptional written, and verbal communication and presentation skills.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking/innovation, and development of contingency plans for risks.

Hourly rate: $120/hr
