Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Safety Critical Embedded Software Test Engineers who is a quick learner, enthusiastic about safety-critical software and appreciate the value of a rigorous software verification process. You will collaborate closely with the Safety Systems Engineering team and Software Development team. Responsibilities:

    • Design and implement requirement-based test cases and procedures for safety critical software
    • Execute and review test results, tracing them to the corresponding requirements and identifying defects, bugs and non-compliances
    • Influencing overall test strategy by helping define product features, enabling QA during design, and spearheading best practices to enable a quality product
    • Working with Design Teams to understand test scenarios
    • Work with other teams to resolve issues
    • Support and promote SW Verification best practices
    • Driving test automation to ensure product quality
    • Troubleshooting failures and proposing corrective actions

Required Competencies

  • MSc or BSc degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in embedded software verification:
    • Good knowledge of requirement-based testing principles
    • Working knowledge of the Python Scripting Language
    • Experience with debug probes
    • Experience with embedded system and hardware in the loop tests
  • Experience with real-time software concepts
  • Technical documentation and communication skills
  • Experience in functional safety (RTCA, DO-178, DO-254, EN 50128, IEC 62304. ISO 26262 ) or similar standards
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and a can-do attitude

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience in the C programing language
  • Experience developing and cross-compiling software in a Linux environment

A Plus to Have

  • Experience in continuous integration, continuous testing and containerized development environments (Docker…)

Miscellaneous Requirements

  • Work can be done remotely. 
  • For employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office). 
  • The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America)

Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
