As a Software Engineer joining Breaking Bad team, you will join a small and experienced team on a mission of delivering a better healthcare experience to our members in US healthcare market. 

You will be in charge of designing and building microservices to manage a crucial domain of our organization, you will work in AWS using serverless products such as Lambda, DynamoDB and you will code in Python, you will not work on legacy system.  

 ​A day in the Life… 

• Working with a small agile team to design and develop serverless applications and microservices meeting the team’s quality standards. 

• Implementing new features on the back-end side of our Accolade Cloud Platform 

• Working with new cloud and cutting-edge technologies (AWS, Elastic, Python, Java) on existing and new projects 

• Contribute to best practices and help guide the future of our application technologies. 

• Mentoring younger colleagues 

• Working with great engineers 

• Continuously improving our user experience (automating manual work, improving reliability) 

• Be part of a Continuous delivery mission where your change is delivered to production in minutes (after all automated tests are successfully executed)  

• Working on own product and being proud of it (we are not a software factory) 

• Working on a mission-critical project that has a profile in the company.

A look outside the day to day: 

• You will collaborate with other excellent developers to proofs of concept to push innovation 

• You will contribute to raising the bar of the quality of our offering 

• You will share with the team/office/community your passions and personal projects 

Demonstrated education, skills and experience to be successful in this role: 

• Good knowledge of Python 3  or Java(2+ years of experience) 

• Knowledge of database systems (relational or NoSQL) 

• Knowledge of CI/CD processes
