Job Description

This is a remote position covering several western states including Hawaii, Washington, California, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona. Applicants from these states are encouraged to apply especially Hawaii employees due to time zone difference.

 

Under the direction of the Field Operations Manager (FOM), NYAP’s Deployment Coordinator (DC) works alongside Intake Coordinators and other designated staff to provide logistical and on the ground support to Home Study and Post Release Services staff (Case Managers, Caseworkers, and other employees) actively deployed within a region to provide services to released unaccompanied children per Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) requirements. Deployment Coordinators (DCs) engage the work of Case Managers, Caseworkers, Community Service Managers, Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Coordinators and other staff tasked with providing services to minors. DCs must be experienced in coordinating the safe logistics of travel and lodging for staff and ensuring rapid deployment of resources within a region. DCs must have a working understanding of NYAP/ORR Policies and Procedures and work collaboratively with other departments for the expedient deployment and redeployment of staff to provide continuity of services. DCs must have an understanding of the HS/PRS process and possess knowledge of local community social services and working with immigrant populations. Additionally, DCs must be knowledgeable of family preservation, kinship care, and general child welfare.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s Mission, Values and Philosophies. 
  • Provide support to HS/PRS Program direct deployment efforts within a region, engaging the work of , Case Managers, Caseworkers, Community Service Managers, Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Coordinators and other staff tasked with providing services to minors.  
  • Support planning and coordinating the safe logistics of travel for staff, making flight arrangements, booking lodging, car rentals, complete travel reimbursements, travel credits and per diems for staff while ensuring rapid deployment of staff and resources within a region. 
  • Directly contacting on-line travel companies, travel agencies, car rental companies, airlines, hotels and other alternative venues when needed. 
  • Responsible for completion of reports and maintaining travel logs and records for staff. 
  • Available to support staff travel emergencies and deployment contingencies, working after hours and on-call schedules. 
  • Provide and ensure effective communication with staff across NYAP’s departments, and ORR stakeholders.  
  • Establish a respectful, supportive workplace environment that promotes NYAP’s values of caring for people, connecting communities and promoting peace while ensuring accountability and compliance. 
  • Ensure the protection of Personal Identifiable Information (PII), and confidentiality of information. 
  • Elevates any issues or concerns to NYAP leadership. 
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Knowledge of logistics of staff deployment, staff travel logistics, per diem allocation, expense reimbursements, completion of expense reports and expense adjustments utilizing Paycom. 
  • Knowledge of planning and coordinating flight arrangements, booking lodging, car rentals, complete travel reimbursements, travel credits and per diems for staff while ensuring rapid deployment of staff and resources within a region. 
  • Directly contacting on-line travel companies, travel agencies, car rental companies, airlines, hotels and other alternative venues when needed. 
  • Prior experience with ORR HS/PRS preferred. 
  • Highly proficient in Spanish or have access to qualified interpreters.  
  • Proficient in using the internet and related computer programs including Paycom, creating Excel reports and working with Evolv. 
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries, and C/ANs check. 
  • Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours, including on-call schedules in the service of persons served. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity 
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands. 
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying. 
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
