Job description

Vantage Point Solutions, a growing and dynamic telecommunications consulting and engineering firm, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic person to join our team. . We have an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager working at a Remote-travel position supporting the Northwestern region. This position was created to develop new business regarding broadband and power engineering services with power companies.

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a well-rounded Business Development Manager with experience in the power/electric industry specifically with REC experience to support our growing organization. This is a Remote position that would require travel across the Northwestern region of the US. The ideal candidate would be regionally located, function autonomously to build and develop relationships with key contacts, and liaison between our customer base and our technical experts. Whether you’ve sold equipment like utility poles or transformers, you would be someone who understands the industry and has a basic understanding of the field. You’ll network to establish relationships with companies in the power industry and specifically NRECA memberships. This position will be client facing and collaborative alongside our in house technical experts.

Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager you’ll represent the company and travel regionally to meet with key contacts, crafting relationships that will lead to new business. You will act as a resourceful, autonomous sales professional bridging the gap between clients and technical authorities. The good news is you’ll work with a team of technical experts who will support you when closing the sale so when it gets to the complex details of the engineering solutions, you’ll pull in the technical authorities!

Experience

  • Proven experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) including tracking processes, building customer relationships, increasing sales, improving customer service, and growing profitability.
  • 2+ years of experience selling to electric cooperatives.
  • Familiarity with collaborating with Technical experts, such as engineers.
  • 5+ years in B2B/B2C with the experience of leading and establishing relationships.
  • New business development experience including tracking, identifying and adding qualified prospects to sales pipelines, tracking and reporting on the status of proposal components, collaborating with internal departments to build rate proposals and driving end-to-end sales processes.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience new business development or client facing sales roles.
