Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock’s Private Debt Platform consists of more than 200 investment professionals located in 19 BlackRock offices managing over $86bn of AUM across a broad range of asset classes including:

  • Direct Lending;

  • Growth Lending;

  • Opportunistic Debt;

  • Infrastructure Debt; and

  • Real Estate Debt

BlackRock’s Global Private Debt Product Strategy team is hiring a Private Debt Investor Relations Professional, also known as a Product Strategist, based in London to assist in driving business growth related to its various strategies. 

Product Strategists are seasoned professionals that partner with our Investment Professionals and act as the link between investment teams and our client business, playing a central role in facilitating connectivity between investors and distribution.  Product Strategists are an integral part of the Private Debt team, acting as commercial partners with their respective investment teams to both internal and external clients, as a specialized source of product, investments, and market knowledge.

Venture Debt & Growth Investment:

We are the leading European venture and growth debt fund manager focused on investing in high-growth companies in the technology and healthcare sector through every stage of their growth life cycle, from entry-level growth, mid-stage development, through to late stage & pre-IPO / exit funding, as well as publicly listed growth funding. Our strategy is highly dynamic, resulting in typically over 50 transactions per year with sizes ranging from €2-100M.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • The Analyst position plays a pivotal role in our investment team. Analysts have day one exposure to the investment process from initial analysis, diligence, execution and portfolio management.

  • Working as part of the investment team supporting full investment process from origination to execution, including helping screen investments, assisting the credit process and the structuring and execution of different transactions.

  • Conducting research, financial and commercial analysis including financial modelling, due diligence, desk-based research as well as on-site visits and interviews, producing investment documents and other deliverables.

  • Regular portfolio management including performance review and reporting.

  • Fund administration – assisting the finance team with quarterly investor reporting and asset valuation.

Sills and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience which could include: PE/VC, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction services, consulting - investment experience not necessary but will be preferred.

  • Strong financial acumen including ability to analyse and understand financial statements including P&L, Cash flow and balance sheet as well as strong modelling skills.

  • Strong commercial understanding of company’s strategy, positioning and outlook.

  • Interest in high growth companies and affinity with technology and / or life science and the VC/PE market.

  • Motivated team player and flexible in approach with ability to work independently.

  • Must demonstrate integrity and alignment to BlackRock’s principles and commitment as a trusted fiduciary to our clients.

  • Flexible, responsive with keen attention to detail.

  • Open-minded thought process and intellectual honesty with an ability to dynamically adapt to coverage of different products.

  • Ability to integrate quickly into a dynamic team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – presents ideas in a clear, concise and constructive manner.
