Your Job:

The Accountant will be assigned to work with a variety of clients from both charter schools and non-profit organizations. The role serves as an accountant for our clients and requires strong communication skills, task management skills, and being organized and team-oriented. The Accountant performs day-to-day tasks for multiple clients and maintains their financial data.


Although the scope of work is different for every client, the Accountant will be responsible for performing Accounting and Consulting activities as well as other tasks and duties outlined below.

 

Your Duties:


1) Accounting

Accounts Payable

    • Review and reconcile accounts payable tasks.
    • Process bank and credit card reconciliation.
    • Research and reconcile financial discrepancies with clients and vendors.

    Payroll

    • Process payroll in the client payroll platform and enter it into the accounting system.

    Monthly Close

    • Prepare the books monthly, quarterly, and annual close
    • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursement.
    • Review financial transactions and maintain documentation
    • Manage and track expenses related to all contracts and grants.
    • Prepares 1099s
    • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
    • Provide financial information and assist with preparing reports.

    Audit

    • Complete audit schedules.


    2) Client Consulting

    • Manage multiple clients simultaneously in a remote environment.
    • Execute multiple client deliverables and priorities.


    3) Task Management

    • Manage Accounts Payable Specialist task assignments including payroll, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation.
    • Conduct on-the-job training for new team members.
    • Maintain accurate records of work hours and time spent on given projects.



    You Should Know:


    1. Microsoft Office 365
    2. Proficient in Excel.
    3. Bill.com, Any bill.
    4. QuickBooks, Intacct, FundEZ, or similar accounting software.
    5. Payroll Management Software (ADP, Paychex, or similar).


    Your Education & Experience:


    1. Bachelor’s degree required.
    2. 5+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
    3. 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience (simultaneous activities of AP/AR, payroll, month-end close)
    4. Prior experience as a consultant working with multiple clients and projects is a plus.
    5. Prior experience working in a non-profit, school, or socially responsible organization is a plus.
