Are you a creative and analytical email marketing expert? Do you thrive in crafting campaigns that engage, convert, and drive customer loyalty? If so, keep reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity!

Who We Are

At Trustona Media, we create content that people love and search engines understand, operating several online publications for a variety of audiences, including Cloudwards (cloud-based tech reviews) and Coffeeness (all things coffee). We have around 50 team members of editors, writers, designers and we keep adding more every month! Because of this growth, our team needs more help.

We're currently looking for a detail-oriented Email Marketing Specialist to join our team and help us elevate our email marketing strategy. The main focus for this position will be email marketing for Cloudwards, with some potential involvement with Coffeeness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building successful email campaigns, with a demonstrable track record of building positive results.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled email marketing specialist to join our team. This will be a freelance contractor role with around 30-40 hours of commitment each week.

A typical day as the Email Marketing Specialist involves reviewing the performance of recent email campaigns and analyzing key metrics like open rates and conversions to identify opportunities for improvement. You'll work closely with teams in marketing, content, and design to ensure campaigns align with broader initiatives, while segmenting your audience based on behavior and preferences to create tailored, relevant content. You’ll also manage the setup and launch of email campaigns, monitor automation workflows, and conduct A/B tests to optimize performance. Ensuring compliance with email regulations, tracking deliverability, and implementing strategies to grow and maintain the subscriber list are also key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, execute, and manage engaging email marketing campaigns that promote products or services and drive traffic to landing pages.

  • Analyze customer data to segment audiences and personalize email content based on user behavior, demographics, and preferences, increasing engagement and conversions.

  • Set up and maintain automated email workflows, such as welcome series, drip campaigns, abandoned cart emails, and re-engagement sequences using FunnelKit.

  • Design and run A/B tests for subject lines, CTAs, email content, and layouts to continuously improve performance.

  • Track and analyze key performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) to measure the effectiveness of email campaigns and identify areas for improvement.

  • Monitor deliverability rates and ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other email marketing regulations.

  • Develop strategies to grow and manage subscriber lists, utilizing opt-ins, lead magnets, and gated content.

  • Work closely with content, product, and marketing teams to ensure email campaigns align with broader marketing initiatives.

  • Map and tailor email content to align with customer journeys, nurturing leads through the sales funnel.

  • Leverage insights from email performance data and customer behavior to refine campaigns for personalized content.

Required Skills
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms and automation tools.

  • Proven experience in building successful email campaigns with demonstrable results.

  • Strong copywriting skills with an ability to create compelling, action-oriented content.

  • Expertise in audience segmentation and personalization.

  • Experience with A/B testing, analyzing results, and campaign optimization.

  • Data-driven with the ability to generate reports on key email metrics.

  • Knowledge of email list management and compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR).

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • General digital marketing knowledge, including SEO and PPC, is a plus.

  • Strong English proficiency (German proficiency is a plus but not required).
