Job description

Use your product engineering skills to help manufacturers build safer, cleaner, globally compliant products. 

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Stewardship Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in assessing the environmental impact and sustainability of products throughout their life cycle.

This is a remote position within Latin America.

About Rumzer: Our mission is to help manufacturers to easily and cost effectively comply with global environmental regulations such as EU RoHS, REACH, California Prop 65, PFAS, CE marking, and other global regulations. We do this using the best software technology and talented professionals. You will lead LCA projects for our clients.

Core Responsibilities
* Analyze materials used in products and packaging to assess conformance to global regulations such as EU REACH, PFAS, TSCA, RoHS, etc.

* Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) for manufacturers producing complex, engineered assemblies.

* Analyze data related to materials, production, transportation, energy usage, carbon emissions, and end-of-life considerations.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product design and minimize environmental impact.

* Develop reports and recommendations based on regulatory assessments and LCA findings.

* Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in life cycle analysis methodologies.


Requirements
* An undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical or other relevant engineering discipline.

* Minimum of 5 years experience in product design - preferably in electrical equipment or medical devices.

* Exposure to LCA software tools and data analysis (or strong desire to learn LCA).

* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

* Experience in new product development/design is preferred.

* Candidates with openLCA experience are encouraged to apply.
