Job description

Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a Senior Sales Account Executive (SAE) that will need to build and maintain effective relationships with a defined customer base to ensure a high level of satisfaction while growing new business. The Senior SAE will be responsible for achieving assigned account objectives and will partner with the producers/brokers to enhance the client experience by proactively taking ownership of the client relationship.

The Senior SAE will represent the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the Company. The incumbent will serve as the primary contact for agents and sales representatives once the sale of a new account is completed and will also be responsible for the set up and implementation of new accounts.

This position requires that the incumbent be responsible for meeting deadlines, producing quality work product in a fast -paced environment, and providing positive team participation and support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Broker/Client Relations:

  • Serve as the lead consultant on managing broker and client relationships and serve as the direct liaison between clients and carriers
  • Lead new business and renewal meetings by partnering with the Account Manager and Sales team to implement a strategic planning process for clients
  • Ensure contract renewals, language, and pricing structure is consistent with company policy and guidelines
  • Assist client strategies interfacing with employers, carriers, and vendors        
  • Manage client requests, including problem resolution on administrative and operational issues
  • Analyze claims, census, provider, and network database information
  • Develop and nurture existing relationships utilizing a proactive approach that focuses on customer retention, new business, product upsells, and product renewals
  • Draw from entire spectrum of product line and seek opportunities to execute cross-sell strategies and add other lines of business
  • Provide open enrollment meeting support when needed
  • Assist in developing an implementation plan with client, including assistance with coordinating and attending enrollment meetings
  • Assist and manage contracting paperwork for new producer appointment

Sales Support:

  • Support Sales team to provide advice and recommendations (i.e., advantages and disadvantages) to current and prospective clients on benefit plans, based on understanding of client strategic plan and objectives      
  • Maintain proactive outreach, as needed, on all broker houses
  • Assist Sales team on annual utilization review on key accounts
  • Support Sales team in reaching monthly goals of new business/broker development
  • Promote PALIG products and services to new and existing producers/brokers that align to the LOB’s strategic plan
  • Assist RSVPs with follow-up calls to new brokers and provide materials on PALIG products

Quality Control & Account Management Support:

  • Assist and manage special projects as needed
  • Contribute to development of consulting standards
  • Assist Account Managers with developing marketing materials, external organizational communications, and formal responses to proposal requests
  • Serve as the lead contact for any matters that require escalation and work promptly to secure an amicable resolution
  • Ensure internal compliance with client disclosure requirements, vendor contracts, summary plan documents, and employee communications to align with client expectations and legal requirements

Special Initiatives:

  • Perform other duties as assigned

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant work experience required (an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
  • Must have an active Life, Accident & Health Insurance license or obtain license within six months of full-time employment (must maintain license and continuing education requirements)
  • Ability to travel 1 to 2 times per year based on need required
  • Competent and proficient understanding of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective ability to communicate orally or in written form with executives, management, sales, and operations staff
  • Excellent comprehension of Account Management principles
  • Excellent customer service philosophy
  • Excellent project management, time management, and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting and actuarial principles preferred
  • Strong understanding of health and benefit products, vendor tools and services preferred

  • Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
