Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 base salary, uncapped tiered commission, equity in a fast-growing startup, generous benefits, unlimited PTO

 

Sertis is a cutting-edge Managing General Agency (MGA) focused on underwriting multifamily (apartment) package business across 24 states. We exclusively partner with retail brokerages to offer our unique insurance products to professionally managed commercial real estate portfolios. We are seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP) of Distribution Partnerships for the Western U.S. territory. This role is pivotal in driving our business development efforts, expanding relationships with retail brokerages, and maximizing new business production within the territory. The SVP will collaborate closely with our underwriting and risk management teams to deliver tailored insurance solutions to our clients.

 Responsibilities:

•       Develop and Execute Business Plans: Create and implement a strategic business plan to grow new business production and deepen existing relationships with retail brokers in the Western U.S. territory.

•       Broker Engagement: Identify and establish relationships with retail brokerages that cater to multifamily portfolios, conducting face-to-face meetings and regular communications to foster strong partnerships.

•       Sales Prospecting: Conduct regular prospecting calls to identify new opportunities and expand Sertis’s footprint within the designated territory.

•       Submission Management: Review, clear, and qualify all insurance submissions, ensuring alignment with Sertis’s underwriting guidelines.

•       Market Intelligence: Gather and document competitive intelligence, providing insights on market trends, competitor activities, and broker preferences.

•       CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in the customer relationship management (CRM) system, ensuring data integrity and transparency.

•       Networking: Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to increase Sertis's visibility and influence within the multifamily insurance sector.

Requirements

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

•       Industry Experience: Minimum 7 years of insurance experience, with a proven track record in selling Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, ideally within the multifamily sector.

•       Licensing: Active Property and Casualty broker's license in the state of domicile.

•       Broker Relationships: Established relationships with retail brokers and agents within the Western U.S. territory.

•       Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of insurance coverage, policy language, risk management principles, and pricing/rating concepts.

•       CRM Knowledge: Proficiency in using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, along with Microsoft Office Suite.

•       Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.

•       Remote Work: Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with a focus on achieving business goals and maintaining productivity.
