About Your Team:

The global Database Administration team supports all database operations within Interactive Brokers and its subsidiaries. 

 

What will be your responsibilities within IBKR: 

We are seeking a hands-on Oracle DBA to join our growing team. You will support database operations in our Production, Development, and QA database environments. You will interact closely with other members of the Database Administration, Software Developers, and Operations teams. The best results come when all team members understand the business problems we are working to solve.

 

Which skills are required:

  • BS in Computer Science or Mathematics or any related quantitative field
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle, preferably 19c or higher on Redhat Linux.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve database performance or availability issues as they arise, interacting with database users as needed.
  • Experience with Oracle query tuning methodologies and ability to offer tuning suggestions as needed.
  • Experience with Oracle RMAN, Flashback, DataGuard, Oracle RAC and ASM.
  • Exposure to working with large databases and large datasets
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager- able to drill down in OEM to identify performance issues.
  • Work on projects as assigned and drive them to completion according to the group's current standards and procedures. Document the steps taken and methods utilized in any project.
  • Maintain availability after hours and occasionally work nights/weekends to perform database operations and maintenance.
  • Composure in high-stress situations with an ability to communicate with clarity

  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication (Verbal and written) skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira and ServiceNow.
