Job description

The Email Marketing Manager’s primary focus will be email marketing strategy and implementation across our B2B, client, and consumer channels. The position requires proficiency in a variety of digital platforms and relevant experience managing email marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise with email marketing platforms, email campaign design and implementation, lead nurturing through various user journeys, form building, developing automations to improve efficiency, and data analysis & reporting. The Email Marketing Manager will be involved in a variety of marketing activities across departments and should have general marketing experience to manage requests and support the company holistically.

Primary Responsibilities:

Email Marketing and Communication – 60%

    Own the day-to-day campaign setup for automated and manual email campaign launches including lead nurturing and managing communication through several customer journeys

    Perform thorough QA checks on all campaigns, ensuring content accuracy, functioning links, and proper segmentation/audience settings

    Collaborate with internal departments for various branding & asset needs

    Create and deploy brand specific email templates and campaigns for client credit unions

    Conduct extensive A/B testing of e-mail strategy, including delivery timing, creative layout, tailored offers, and subject line testing to develop best practices for ongoing email campaigns

    Execute marketing campaigns in a timely manner

    Manage and maintain customer data and list segmentation

    Develop lifecycle marketing efforts such as lead nurturing, customer loyalty campaigns, and seasonal promotional campaigns

    Assist in shaping robust SMS and cross-platform communication strategy

    Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices, including CAN-SPAM and GDPR

    Manage relationships with email service providers and other vendors

    Stay up-to-date with email marketing trends, best-practices, software and technologies, making recommendations for adoption or upgrades

Data Analysis & Reporting – 20%

    Evaluate the performance of email campaigns, including the impact of subject lines, segmentation performance, click-through rates and provide actionable solutions to improve future email performance

    Provide timely input, reporting and feedback to the department and client credit unions

    Regularly monitor KPI’s and campaigns to ensure deadlines and goals are met

Project Management – 15%

    Support Strategic Partner, Sales and Marketing teams in coordination and management of marketing projects

    Use project management systems to remain on schedule and track results

    Develop and maintain project documents, timelines, proofing checklists and status reports

    Document change requests, notify the team, and understand timeline implications. Seek standardization, automation, and process improvement wherever possible

    Support daily marketing operations, projects, and other Student Choice business units

Requirements:

Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in a marketing‐related field

    Must have 5+ years of experience in a hands-on, analytical email marketing role utilizing enterprise-level ESPs (such as, Salesforce, HubSpot, or Delivra)

    Proficiency in Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

    Familiar with email best practices (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.)

    Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining email marketing strategies

    Proven experience delivering effective and innovative email campaigns, with a solid understanding of lead nurture, web metrics, email regulations, digital analytics, and data interpretation

    Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) preferred

    Additional experience in administering websites through use of a CMS platform and proficiency in HTML/CSS is a plus

    Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment

    Credit union experience is encouraged and strongly preferred

Work Conditions:

    Sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time
