This role offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule (4 days in the office, 1 remote day). We also welcome fully remote candidates located within Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas, and New Mexico.

As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will play a key role in managing and growing an assigned book of business while also seeking out new clients. You will evaluate risks, set terms and pricing, and foster strong relationships with agents and brokers. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to less experienced underwriters.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business by assessing applications and making risk decisions according to company guidelines.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with agents and brokers to support a healthy loss ratio.
• Contribute to product development and pricing strategies, and engage in local customer development and relationship-building.
• Participate in ongoing education and assist with training initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills, with effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency in interpreting business and regulatory information, and maintaining professional interactions.
