JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Sales Compensation role is responsible for promoting and sustaining optimal sales performance and efficiency through managing the development and administration of worldwide sales compensation plans and delivering timely and accurate incentive plan results.  This role ensures that senior leadership has the reporting needed to better manage compensation trends and outliers. This position will oversee the communication flow between functional groups regarding sales compensation changes, new product integration, and analysis. This critical role partners with sales management, finance, and human resources to ensure plan design and modifications are aligned with the company’s objectives. This role resolves operational issues and ensures employees receive required information and documentation.  This role will operate both at the strategic as well as tactical level.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Continuously assesses commission plan structure and effectiveness to ensure alignment to company objectives and make recommendation to upper management

  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and HR functions to ensure accurate incentive plan results and administration, aggregate best practices, and develop consistent procedures to resolve issues

  • Compute commissions and manage commission statements distribution process accurately and timely with the help of analyst: from creation to sending to payroll team, and resolve commission disputes

  • Train Sales employees on incentive plans and answer inquiries

  • Work with Sales VPs to evaluate sales employees’ performance KPIs regularly against plan

  • Lead the annual commission planning process, support annual quota setting, and roll out the individual annual commission/quota plan to sales employees

  • Review and ensure compliance with incentive compensation policies and SOX controls

  • Develop and maintain commission process documentations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting

  • 6+ years of sales compensation management experience, with exposure to senior management preferred

  • 3+ years of experience managing or overseeing an incentive compensation system, such as Callidus Commissions or Xactly Incent

  • Certified Sales Compensation Professional (WorldatWork) certification preferred

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end enterprise incentive management and variable compensation plans

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office Excel

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Service-oriented and effective at building positive relationships, fostering trust, and resolving conflict

  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills

  • Strong leadership and management qualities
