Job Overview

Product marketing at Learning A-Z is the tentpole of the marketing team - it’s where the action begins and is a pivotal, highly strategic function in our matrixed marketing team. The Director, Product Marketing leads the product marketing team, and is accountable for the planning and design of effective go-to-market strategies for all Learning A-Z products that results in product line revenue achievement. Collaborative leadership is essential for this visible leader. This role is a key partner to the product development and sales teams as new products and features are developed and launched, and partners effectively with other marketing leaders to successfully achieve company growth targets. This role reports to the Vice President of Marketing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead our Product Marketing team to deliver product line revenue impact to the business, while bringing joy to the work.
  • Recruit, retain and develop top marketing talent at Learning A-Z.
  • Creation and execution of effective customer-centered product marketing strategy. Collaborate effectively within the marketing function and across the organization to move the product marketing strategy forward successfully.
  • Establish excellence in product marketing best practices as it relates to the creation and constant tuning of unique, relevant, differentiated and believable positioning and pricing strategy that is informed by data, and executed across multiple assets and channels.
  • In collaboration with sales leadership and sales enablement, maintain sales tools, pitch decks, playbooks, communication templates and updated competitive intelligence to optimize sales outcomes.
  • Provide market and customer intelligence to inform product strategy and product development. This includes ownership of voice of customer and customer satisfaction research.
  • Successfully launch new products, providing a complete set of deliverables to accurately position new products within the marketplace and within our existing product portfolio.
  • Partner with industry experts and associations to amplify the relevance of Learning A-Z products in the market

  • Product positioning, messaging and pricing strategy: You are passionate about developing and evolving a winning narrative and value proposition for our products that delivers sales gains and supports the Learning A-Z brand.
  • Go-to-Market planning: You enjoy working collaboratively with cross-functional partners to develop go-to-market strategy and playbooks that help drive revenue outcomes across product lines.
  • Communication:  You are a communications superstar (both written and verbal) who captures the minds of internal and external stakeholders, is able to deliver presentations, conduct product demonstrations, lead sales discussions, and host conversations with customers and thought-leaders.
  • Research: You are deeply curious about trends, research and data, with the ability to conduct primary research and analyze publicly available data to inform your and your team’s decisions and plans
  • Leadership: You love to lead and inspire others with an ability to build trusting relationships with others leveraging openness and professionalism. In a leadership role, you are a role model of the company’s values and vision to build and maintain a cohesive and supportive work environment for all.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • 8-10 years of professional experience with 3+ years of experience in product marketing, ideally in edtech, with literacy market experience strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of marketing leadership experience, including experience managing one or more manager level direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to define highly successful go-to-market strategies, position and launch new products, enable sales.
  • Leadership presence including experience influencing, developing, and effectively launching new products to market.
  • Proven reputation of establishing relationships with customers and internal leadership (Sales, Product, etc.) at all levels, along with effective interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. A believer in SaaS as a team sport.
  • Familiarity with modern marketing strategies, channels and tactics for B2B SaaS product led growth companies.
  • Highly analytical. Naturally curious. Humble, Hungry & Smart.
  • Strategic, exceptional communication skills, highly organized.
  • Demonstrated values and leadership skills that align with Learning A-Z’s mission.
