Job description

Overview:

Kimley-Horn's Orlando, FL office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Surface Water team. This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities:

Roadway drainage design responsibilities includes existing drainage analysis, permit research, obtaining permits for design, spread analysis, ditch calculations, and ICPR 3 & 4. Technical writing desired for Pond Siting Reports, Base Clearance, Hydroplaning and Drainage Reports. Knowledge in modeling HEC-RAS, GIS, and HY-8. Qualifications:
  • BS degree in civil and/or environmental engineering
  • EI certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 2 or more years of relevant engineering experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microstation
