KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with the Business Partner, Director of Project Delivery, and Project Managers to maintain a portfolio of capital projects.
- Engages with Delivery Team and Business Unit (client) leadership to develop complete project scope and goals that are client-focused, fiscally conscious and efficient spatially.
- Requests and analyzes client data to inform and substantiate a design solution.
- Upon strategizing with Delivery team, directs external vendors in the most effective manner to maximize budget accuracy and schedule.
- Collaborates with external vendors to obtain comprehensive facility assessments on renovations and relocations. Relaying deficiencies in a timely manner to Delivery Team for negotiation.
- Performs or directs the test fit solutions for new or renovated facilities that allow for seamless integration with standard HR, regulatory, IT and Security practices. Ensures the pricing document displays the proper scope notes needed for budgeting and transaction negotiation.
- Prepares site / massing diagrams for conceptualization. Meets with the Authority Having Jurisdiction alongside the external vendor as needed to foster positive relationships, uncover additional project requirements and schedule impacts.
- Facilitates design iterations in accordance with executed task orders/contracts and advising the client and Delivery team where change requests may result in additional design fees or change orders.
- Influences client adoption in a tactful and soft manner; driving innovation with supporting evidence for basis.
- Ensures client understanding of contract document & scoping for the purposes of client sign-off. Leverages and encourages Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and mock-ups as necessitated and allowable within the budget.
- Reviews architectural and engineering documents at each stage gate for compliance with published design guidelines, code and ordinances, best practices, and approved client requests.
- Reports schedule and budget targets upline and to broader team for coordination and escalates potential risks as they may arise.
- Accesses and updates project notes, tasks & dates in the project and portfolio management platforms.
- Executes change management process for unplanned and special project requests.
- Encourages design innovation while documenting best practices as “standards”.
- Performs pre- and post-occupancy evaluations to evaluate project success. Reports findings upline and to broader audience in presentation formats as requested to influence positive change.
- Collaborates closely with FFE Specialist to ensure full coordination of finishes, schedules, and infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 15 years of design management experience, during employment at an architectural or interior design firm, or with mixed experience as an Owner’s Representative.
- Registered Architect or Licensed Interior Designer, in the State of Texas
SKILLS
- Experience in Healthcare design, particularly oncology clinics.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & Bluebeam. Revit proficiency is a plus.
- Self-directed & motivated
- Polished Executive-level presentation skills, or to a Physician Board.
- Skilled in conflict de-escalation
- Travel will be required within Texas and seldom beyond, up to 40%.
- Knowledge of the Build-to-Suit process preferred
EDUCATION and PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS/BArch) required from 4-year College or University or equivalent experience
- Professional Registration in Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
- Education, accreditation or experience with WELL or LEED-certified projects is preferred.

Our Base Pay Range for this position
$112,700 - $187,800
