PR Account Executive

Location: New York / Remote

Working pattern: Full time, hybrid (if in New York) or remote (if elsewhere)

About the role

We are looking for a PR Account Executive to support corporate and public affairs accounts for the fast-growing US division of Grayling. This is a generalist role working across financial services, technology, energy, and healthcare, among other sectors.

As an Account Executive, you will bring energy and expertise to all your accounts. You will know everything that’s happening on an account, and what needs to happen next. You will be a key contact for your clients and internal teams, your clients will trust your ability to deliver, and you will be managing both up and down to deliver client successes. In this role, you are honing your skills in account management, as well as learning to provide trusted client counsel.

The day to day 

• Serve as a day-to-day client contact across accounts and/or key workstreams
• Develop client relationships while learning to provide expert counsel and deliverables
• Demonstrate an understanding of the media landscape, and develop and maintain relationships with key reporters  
• Demonstrate ability to develop a broad range of written materials across a myriad of formats (i.e., client correspondence, press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, media audits)
• Develop understanding of the sectors in which you are working and apply that knowledge to support with proactive activities across accounts
• Maintain team/client files and manage project timelines and trackers
• Support the team with the creation of new business proposals
• Pursue initiatives to support Grayling more broadly, especially those about which you are passionate
• Bolster Grayling’s positive and collaborative culture

About you

• 2-3 years of experience in public relations agency or similar position
• An undergraduate degree in Communication, PR or journalism
• Proven success supporting accounts, especially those with global teams
• Ability to juggle deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple clients and other responsibilities

Pay range

$50,000 - $60,000 per year + discretionary bonus and incentives
