Your missions

Senior Backend Fullstack Engineer (Remote in LATAM)

As a Senior Backend Fullstack Engineer, you will primarily focus on backend development but will also contribute to our frontend web and mobile applications. You will be responsible for designing and building systems that align with business objectives, optimizing the performance of our products, and ensuring high standards in engineering and security. You'll have significant ownership over the code you write and be expected to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand product specifications and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development: Focus on backend development, ensuring the performance, optimization, and scalability of LANDED's products and systems.
Fullstack Involvement: Traverse the stack into frontend web (Hotwire) and mobile applications as needed.
System Design: Design and build systems that meet business objectives and user needs, ensuring that they are robust and maintainable.
Codebase Maintenance: Uphold high engineering standards, maintain and improve codebases, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to understand product requirements and ensure that the solutions align with business goals.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the current product and processes.
Rapid Deployment: Take pride in shipping code quickly, testing user-facing changes, and iterating rapidly to improve the product.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Have 6+ years of experience as a Backend or Fullstack Engineer, managing projects of varying complexity.
Technical Proficiency: Are highly proficient with Ruby on Rails and have experience with JavaScript.
Database Skills: Have strong experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and are familiar with ORM libraries like ActiveRecord.
Ownership: Enjoy taking significant ownership of your work and thrive in independent environments.
Agility: Are quick to learn new environments, have a can-do attitude, and are solutions-focused.
Communication: Are an excellent communicator and collaborator, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Frontend Experience: Commercial experience with React/React Native.
Hotwire/Stimulus: Experience with or willingness to learn Hotwire/Stimulus.
