Job description

eSentio has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Senior Information Governance (IG) Consultant to be part of the growing IG practice.  This position is a telecommuting role and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting with law firm clients to design and implement Information Governance programs and best practices.
  • Evaluating existing IG policies and retention schedules and developing recommendations for problem resolution and enhancement.
  • Designing, documenting, implementing, deploying, and, when applicable, managing implementations of IG best practices for law firms and corporate legal departments.
  • Working closely within individual project teams and within the group on best practices
  • Define, document and implement best practices for the IG practice group.
  • Cultivate partner relationships specific to the IG practice area.
  • Maintain current and ongoing certifications.
  • Maintain a high level of subject matter and technical expertise as well as industry trends and knowledge.
  • Present at trade shows and CIO Roundtable, author articles and white papers for industry trade publications.

 Requirements

  • Our candidate will possess excellent skills in all areas of the law firm information governance as well as knowledge of privacy and security issues such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other statutory and ethics issues.
  • Experience working in, or consulting to, large law firms and/or corporate legal departments on Information Governance policy assessment and development as well as system implementation efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of Information Governance issues facing large law firms including expertise in the management of electronic records
  • Experience developing records management policies and retention schedules
  • Knowledge of the leading Document Management and Records Management systems in use at large law firms, including system implementation efforts.
  • Knowledge of privacy and security regulations.
  • IGP, CIP, CIPP, CRM or similar Certification preferred
  • Understanding of the business of law firms, including risk management issues

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
