Job Title: Legal Assistant

 

Position Summary:

 

Magna Legal Services is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team! The Legal Assistant will be supporting five of our consultants for a variety of tasks. This individual will be responsible for preparing engagement letters, scheduling, tracking status reports, managing documents, and interacting with clients. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal and writing skills for internal and external communication.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and send engagement letters for confirmed preparation sessions
  • Upload documents to cloud based filing system and work with counsel to obtain any missing documents that the consultant will need prior to the preparation sessions
  • Track status reports through complete, sending email reminders as needed.
  • Enter and track travel, ensuring that details are correct
  • Update files with whiteboard notes, change emails, PPC confirmations, etc.
  • Update process board with progress of obtaining documents, travel, completion of preparation sessions, status reports, etc.
  • Assist with template updates and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Manage the calendar ensuring all confirmations, cancellations, hold changes, or expirations are up to date
  • Track all scheduling assignments
  • Finalize preparation meeting details: create Zoom session, prepare witness details, etc.
  • Handle all file changes and team updates across various platforms on defense counsel deviations such as addition of contacts, law firm changes, etc.
  • Documentation for external use including but not limited to: multiple witnesses, excel spreadsheets, legal correspondence, change emails, etc.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with counsel and co-workers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate, take directive from supervisors
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, professionalism
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency when necessary
  • Experienced self-starter and reliable in a remote work environment
  • Strong computer skills, able to learn new technology
  • Ability to pivot tasks and wear multiple hats
  • Legal experience a plus

 

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,0000

 

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
