Director, Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting

Location: Longueuil, QC—Possibility to work from home #LI-Remote

mdf commerce Inc. is an international team of approximately 650 experts who develop a broad set of SaaS solutions to optimize and accelerate commercial interactions of its B2B and B2G customers.

We are currently seeking a Director, Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our finance team.

What will your main responsibilities look like?

In this role, you will be led to:

• Manage corporate accounting and financial reporting.
• Oversee the month-end close process and the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Responsible for the consolidation of the financial statements.
• Manage treasury (banking & debt).
• Participate in the annual audit.
• Ensure continuous application and implementation of updates of accounting standards (IFRS) and the preparation of accounting memorandums.
• Responsible for the accounting system, Business Central (BC).
• Support the preparation the budget and monthly financial analysis.
• Participation in various strategic initiatives (e.g., acquisitions, performance monitoring, process automation).
• Oversee the design and implementation of effective financial processes and internal controls.
• Supervise accountants, accounts receivable and accounts payable teams (coaching, setting individual and team objectives, performing performance evaluations, etc.).

• Analytical mindset, ability to prepare technical accounting analysis.
• Ability to identify issues and suggest solutions to senior management.
• Management experience and team coaching skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with English and French-speaking internal and external colleagues and partners in Canada and the United States.
• Autonomy and dynamism.
• Experience in process automation.
• Knowledge of Business Central software is an asset.
• CPA designation.
• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or administration/accounting & reporting profile.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role or progressive roles.
• Experience in team management.
