Overview:

E2 is hiring a Part-Time On-Call Health Physicist. This is a mid-level position and will be working with our Environmental Remediation Services division. 

 

This is a Remote Part-Time on-call role (PTOC).

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of a radiation safety program to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on radiological control problems.
  • Advise permit holders on radioactive material inventory problems, shielding designs, waste handling procedures, and licensing requirements.
  • Evaluate, collect, prepare, and inventory radioactive materials and/or hazardous chemicals for transport and disposal.
  • Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, radiation, or fire and smoke incidents.
  • Prepare reports of findings and submits recommendations, and tests sealed sources of radioactive materials.
  • Conduct research to determine appropriate policies and procedures which include inspection standards, safe work methods, decontamination procedures, and radiological emergency procedures.
  • Participate in the development, review, and implementation of radiation materials disposal protocols and procedures.
  • Lead and guide the work of environmental health and safety technicians.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in radiologic health, radiologic science, health physics, engineering, mathematics, physical science or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience working on similar projects.
  • At least four (4) years of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) experience supporting radiological investigations and remediation activities.
  • At least three (3) years radiation risk assessment and remediation experience with soil and groundwater investigations using EPA’s CERCLA radiation risk assessment calculator tool.
  • Hold current Certified Health Physics certification or equivalent as demonstrated by a combination of education and professional experience related to radiation physics, radiochemistry and/or health physics.

Wage Data Per State Requirements:

Pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00.  The starting pay will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
