Overview

Under the functional direction of the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Director of Supply Chain – Front End of the Business Support (FEOTBS) and Strategic Sourcing is responsible for transforming, developing, and leading the FEOTBS. This role will provide strategic leadership to V2X in new business captures, developing strategic direction and continually looking at alternatives to improve the bottom line through more efficient execution. The role is highly visible and a major game changer in the direction of supply chain for V2X. Additionally, this role is responsible for providing sustainable procurement and acquisition of materials, services, and supplies at the best total landed cost. This role leads the Supply Chain effort to identify and implement company-wide sourcing and procurement opportunities with key suppliers; identify and implement strategic sourcing actions to improve our performance, costs and profitability on existing contracts and re-compete contract opportunities, directs and manages the commodity and supplier management functions to provide key commodities by primary suppliers to our program needs; leads the effort to identify, evaluate and select alternative sources of supply that can be acquired at lower costs, improved delivery performances and provide high level of quality materials and services, directs the development and maintenance of key supplier relations in the major commodities required across all programs.

The Director ensures 1) developing forecast and planning requirements for the FEOTBS 2) ensure compliant bids 3) identifies strategic suppliers for bids 4) develops overall strategic direction 5) manages and continuously develops the team 6) responsible for pipeline management and overall supply chain strategy to support short-term and long-term pipeline opportunities 7) development of strategic direct and indirect agreements (MSAs, LTAs BPAs, etc.). Moreover, the Director ensures early life cycle engagement and successful Supply Chain execution on supply chain proposals in all gate reviews and phase-in.

Building and enhancing the relationships with cross-functional regional counterparts, the Director listens, speaks, and writes clearly and consistently. The Director communicates for maximum impact with people at all levels within the organization, including team members, leadership, peers, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Transforming, and developing the strategic sourcing and “front-end” support teams
  • Developing key process improvements to streamline the strategic sourcing and “front-end” support teams, for better strategy development inclusion
  • Comfortable with challenging the status-quo to bring about potential innovation/ideas for supply chain with the capture and program teams
  • Manage and develop a team of supply chain professionals
  • Devise long term strategies based on market and customer analytics
  • Ensure tracking and execution of key product offerings from inception to buy ready
  • Facilitate all supplier negotiations, including competitive price reviews, creating or updating contracts (SubK’s, MSA’s, BPA’s,)
  • Directs and implements the development of commodity and sourcing strategies to improve costs and responsiveness to our programs and customers.
  • Initiates, negotiates, executes and administers corporate and enterprise level strategic agreements, in coordinate with V2X functional leadership
  • Ability to negotiate and execute complex agreements, including Fixed-Price, Cost-Reimbursement, Incentive, Indefinite-Delivery and Time and Material contracts.
  • Establish and foster positive, strategic working level and executive relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Continually identifies, evaluates and solicits alternative sources of supply of critical commodities to improve Vectrus program costs
  • Identifies and evaluates risk associated with key commodities availability and potential shortages; develops and implements risk mitigation actions
  • Drive cross-functional effort with the Small Business Liaison Office (SBLO) to develop Small Business Subcontracting Plans and Strategies.
  • Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving strategy decisions within team and cross-functionally
  • Foster trust relationships with suppliers to achieve better pricing and quality of services/materials
  • Project manage the entire proposal team efforts within Supply Chain
  • Management of ad-hoc projects that drive operational efficiency, cost savings and connectivity
  • Lead large scale cross functional projects to enable delivery of strategic plans
  • Suggests and executes process improvements as needed.
  • Participate in key projects to evolve supply chain capabilities.
  • Participate and engage in all milestone reviews
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education. Advanced degrees and/or certifications can contribute to meeting required experience years.

Bachelor’s degree in business or finance or related field. Certification by National Contract Management Association is desired.

Experience

Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience or equivalent working a wide variety of contracts and subcontracts with a strong background in Subcontract administration and management, as well as purchasing and procurement; five (5) years’ experience with government contracting. Must have working knowledge of the FAR, contract law, purchasing policies and procedures, and the demonstrated ability to communicate with executive leaders. Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have experience training personnel, leading direct employees and projects, and improving team performance.

  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with and communicate with all levels of senior leadership and individual contributors within Vectrus, as well as with customers and vendors
  • Strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to convert business requirements into executable strategies; ability to develop and execute project plans
  • Skilled in team building, conflict resolution, and relationship management to create an effective partnering environment to includes credibility, respect and trust
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Supply Chain-related metrics and terminology

  • The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company’s base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company.
    • USD $145,000 - $225,000
