Position: Manager, Financial Coach

 

 

About Per Scholas

 

Per Scholas is dedicated to advancing economic equity through rigorous training for careers in technology. We seek an enthusiastic, mission-driven Financial Coach to work with our learners to achieve their financial goals and attain long-term economic stability. As a key member of our Learner Support Team (LST), which integrates an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) type approach to service delivery, you will play a critical role in our learners' financial journeys.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Financial Capability Workshops:  Facilitate structured workshops to enhance learners' financial knowledge and skills.
  • One-on-One Coaching: Provide personalized financial coaching sessions to help learners manage credit, debt, personal banking, and money management.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement financial coaching curriculum and services tailored to specific sites.
  • Resource Management: Develop and maintain dynamic national and responsive local resources with articles, tip sheets, and worksheets.
  • Community Partnerships: Build relationships with community organizations and government agencies for credible referrals on financial matters such as bankruptcy, small business startups, and foreclosure prevention.
  • Direct Support Fund Management: Inform, screen, track, and monitor Learner access to direct support funds, as available.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor student progress, maintain confidentiality, and generate regular reports on critical financial indicators.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in regular cycle conferencing with the Learner Support Team and Per Schoals Campuses to ensure integrated support and targeted interventions.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on developments in the financial education field, including local policies, and participate in relevant events and conferences.

 

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) or equivalent certification.
  • Passion for personal finance, financial education, and coaching.
  • Commitment to economic justice and equity, working with diverse populations from a strength-based perspective.
  • Experience in measuring, reporting, and communicating program results.



Preferred

  • Experience in organizational training and development or learning and development.
  • Experience collaborating with adults (18+).
  • Knowledge of workforce development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom and Canvas

Compensation 

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $55,000 - $60,000, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides and alignment with qualifications and experience.
