WHO we’re looking for:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (SaaS) to join the Runtime Platform Group and be responsible for building the FedRAMP-authorized environment for U.S. Federal Government projects.

You will be on a team building a secure, compliant SaaS platform for Federal government-led construction projects. This will involve building cloud infrastructure and deploying cloud-native applications and services in a dedicated environment that meets all controls for, and is authorized for use at, the FedRAMP Moderate level. You will report to the Runtime Platform Software Architect and will be based remotely within the Continental United States.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to define, build, and document the cloud data resources needed to run our SaaS platform in an AWS Govcloud region.
  • Continually ensure processes and results comply with the FedRAMP Moderate level of controls.
  • Use infrastructure-as-code pipelines to deploy and configure business-critical cloud databases, data lake, and data streaming.
  • Deploy and configure Debezium change data capture, Flink, and Kafka in a highly secure environment.
  • Engineer resilient systems that support 24x365 uptime at a 99.95% availability level.
  • Build and test disaster recovery mechanisms for systems and data.
Required Experience and Education:
  • 6+ years platform data development experience, at least some of which are in a moderate-to-large-scale environment (>1000 hosts, petabytes of data).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with AWS data services, including RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, Managed OpenSearch, S3, and MSK.
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
  • Proficient with Terraform.
  • Confident in one or more common platform software development languages such as Python, Golang, or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with cloud observability, logging, and telemetry.
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment.

Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity.

Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. May require working additional time beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
