Summary

The Continuous Improvement and PMO will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of Lean principles and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the organization, driving operational excellence, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Drive project management and coaching in operational and functional transformation. Know and can execute waterfall/agile project discipline. Assist in the management and execution of SDP and M&A integration work focused on synergies. In depth on hands experience with Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, & Problem-solving facilitation and ownership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of lean principles and Continuous Improvement initiative through organization.
  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities through Kaizen events using data-driven analysis, value-stream mapping, and other Lean tools and techniques.
  • Development ILG Business System Learning and Development framework to implement lean tools and methods to enable teams to apply lean improvement processes.
  • Conduct leadership and employee team training and provide ‘Sensei-type’ coaching to facility leadership and representatives to develop their lean expertise over time.
  • Lean leader coaching and mentoring to apply lean application to improve business process, eliminate waste, and drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and other Lean workshops to drive process improvements and build a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change management efforts within a PMO or similar environment.
  • Ability to align change management efforts with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Track record of identifying potential challenges and opportunities related to change initiatives.
  • Experience in identifying and analyzing stakeholders impacted by change.
  • Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders at different levels of the organization. Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Experience in overseeing multiple change projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in tracking project progress, managing resources, and mitigating risks.
  • Strong project management abilities, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Track record of completing Lean Six Sigma projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Ability to develop change management strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci) and their practical application.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and practices in the context of process improvement.
  • Experience in managing resistance to change and facilitating smooth process transitions.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards to track progress and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Proven experience driving Labor OpEx, COGS Material, COGS Labor, and Productivity OpEx down to P&L.
  • Program/Project manage cross-functional initiatives and M&A integration synergy capture of value creation plan (VCP).
  • Lead the development and implementation of Lean principles and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments and functions to drive Lean initiatives and share best practices.
  • Provide training and support to employees at all levels to ensure Continuous Improvement initiatives are understood and embraced.
  • Assist in driving the Strategy Deployment management operating system nationally with each initiative owner to drive performance and accountability.
  • Work closely with Executive Leadership, Division Presidents, and local management acting as a resource and coach to drive to world class performance.

Requirements:

  • A lean leader with extensive experience driving a lean business system across a cross-functional organization with outstanding business results.
  • 5+ years, hands-on track record of training, coaching and implementing successful TPS-based Lean business system with value-stream mapping and follow-up kaizen events, focusing on cell design, material flow, 5S, visual factory, lean in the office, lean sourcing, etc, and experience as a lean sensei coaching facility leadership and employee teams.
  • Strong IT analytical background in digitization and user interfaces that enable collaboration through the use of web pages, team sites and collaboration libraries.
  • Development of KIPs measurement systems, data warehouse & dashboard maintenance.
  • Robust project management acumen and execution can drive at all levels of organization and own and manage plans for teams.
  • Extensive formal lean training, and comprehensive knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Superior leadership skills with proven ability to effectively coach and develop diverse teams of people and facilitate effective cross-cultural business interaction.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to see bigger picture and envision step-change scenarios.
  • Electro-mechanical comprehension sufficient to understand the operation of production equipment and facility systems and to engage in problem-solving discussions on products produced.
  • Financial literacy sufficient to understand Financial Statements and Budgets.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software and understanding of ERP systems.
  • Great communicator at all levels of the organization, including accomplished written, oral and presentational skills.
  • Graduation or in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher learning program required, with majors in engineering, science, operations or business.  MS or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
  • Ability to travel 35%, domestically.
