We're a profitable, growing company known for our intuitive design platform, exceptional quality, and fanatical customer service. But Mixbook is more than just a product - we're a team of passionate individuals driven to make a difference.

What truly sets Mixbook apart is our commitment to creating a workplace where you can thrive both personally and professionally. We value collaboration, open communication, and a growth mindset. We believe in empowering our team members to take ownership, embrace challenges, and make a meaningful impact.

Our culture is built on a foundation of trust, constructive feedback, and a shared passion for delivering outstanding results. If you're looking for a place where your contributions are valued, your voice is heard, and you can grow alongside a talented team, then Mixbook is the place for you.

About This Role

The Platform and Data team within the Engineering organization serves as the backbone for data across Mixbook, delivering the foundation upon which our insights, prediction models, and AI investments thrive. We are committed to developing a modern data infrastructure, focusing on leveraging best-in-class tools and architectures. This role will focus on establishing data marts through curation and transformation to power our analytics and machine learning processes. In addition to overseeing the data transformations, the role will play a key role in selecting and implementing data transformation and observability platforms (i.e., dbt, coalesce).

As our Senior Analytics Data Engineer, you will help marry our business initiatives that thrive on data with data assets. A successful candidate will have that rare mix of technical expertise and business prowess; combining a solid grasp of ETL and transformation techniques and tools with an eagerness to work with business leaders from across our company. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure to transform our data from a raw stream of events into analytic data marts for business and analytics teams to access. If you're passionate about data and engineering and want to be part of an exciting, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Location: This role is open to candidates based in Moldova, Romania, or neighboring European countries. For candidates based in Moldova, a hybrid work model is available at our office in central Chisinau. The vast majority of our Engineering team is in Moldova, so we’re seeking candidates in nearby countries to enhance team camaraderie within a similar time zone.

What You’ll Do
  • Select and implement transformation and governance platform tools, identifying new technologies and features that will improve our data platforms.
  • Design data mart models with business users in mind. Develop data product specifications that enable business, analytics, and engineering teams. Assess data integration needs and set the specifications for integrations in our Redshift Data Warehouse.
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics on the design, testing, and implementation of efficient data systems.
  • Establish observability best practices. Verify data integrity and discrepancies.
  • Partner with business, analytics, and engineering teams to direct instrumentation needs and integrate into established data pipelines. Understand how data is produced and work with the Engineering team to adjust as needed.
  • Develop transformation code and deploy to production following agile best practices.
  • Support engineering efforts to optimize database performance and uptime.
What You’ll Need
  • Experience with Analytics Data Engineering: data modeling, data mart design, data transformations, data governance, data lineage, and data observability.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another related college degree.
  • A solid grasp of Analytics Data engineering principles, practices, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • 4+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Infrastructure Engineer or Software Engineer
  • Expert SQL, Python, and database programming skills. Ruby, and/or other coding languages are a plus.
  • Proven experience with AWS or similar cloud databases, and data management frameworks and tools (i.e., dbt, coalesce, Monte Carlo).
  • Experience working with Looker PDTs and LookML is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • Able to partner with stakeholders across various levels of expertise.
What You’ll Enjoy
  • Market-leading salary
  • Being part of a small, efficient, and inspiring engineering team
  • Flexible schedule
  • High-tech modern office in central Chișinău (available to candidates based in Moldova or those who are comfortable to occasionally travel to Moldova)
