We are looking for an EHR Support and Database Engineer to support our client's projects.

US BASED CANDIDATES ONLY.  

This is an remote position. Preference will be given to candiates in Florida. Candidates must be located in the US.

The opportunity

TECKpert seeks to hire an EHR Support and Database Engineer to support our client, a healthcare company headquarted in Miami, FL. The EHR Support and Database Engineer is responsible for documenting and follow up on reported issues, SQL Database and NextGen application health. New report requests and NextGen Application capabilities while providing high quality customer service, properly documenting and timely communication of projects updates. This position will report to the Nextgen Product Manager.

Job duties includes but not limited to:

  • Builds and maintains relationships to drive mutually beneficial solutions and drive positive client experiences; acts as subject matter expert.
  • Customizate and/or develop project plan(s) and project scope(s) with internal teams to support needs.  
  • Monitor database and system health and troubleshoot database infrastructure for issues.
  • Monitor daily jobs to make sure they are running as expected and provide a first call resolution plan in case the system goes down.  
  • Act as a backup for other systems/databases we interact with. 
  • Documents functional and technical requirements, mapping process flows, documenting test plans, conducting system testing. 
  • Review Application Performance is optimal and provides insights on how to improve performance as we add more customizations that might affect system performance. 
  • Write SQL queries and SPs as needed for reports or integrations with other external systems.
  • Oversee Ancillary applications (carequality, Rosetta and APIs, etc.) are running. 
  • Responsible for documenting Data Governance for all internal reports.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, pay commensurate with experience up to $120,000 a year including full benefits.

Qualifications you need

A successful EHR Support and Database Engineer has the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with NextGen EHR systems.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with SQL databases.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or equivalent tools for database management.
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain SQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance optimization, and security.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and deploying SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Familiarity with database design principles and normalization.
  • Certification in Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly desirable.
