About The Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a
Vice President, Corporate Tax to join the Tailored Brands Finance team. The VP, Corporate Tax is responsible for managing the corporate tax function including ensuring compliance with US federal, state, foreign and local income, franchise, sales and use property and VAT (or similar) tax regulations and reporting, as well as ensuring proper US GAAP recording of the group company’s overall tax provision and assisting with trade and customs issues as needed.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
- Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, foreign and local tax returns, estimates, and extensions.
- Review the Company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting income tax provision and related financial statement disclosures.
- Coordinate financial statement and tax jurisdiction audits.
- Select, and manage relationship with, external tax services providers.
- Coordinate the exchange of information and data, including proper compliance with applicable tax sharing agreements.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax payments and ensure recognition of all available deductions.
- Direct research and strategic planning efforts related to tax issues; provide tax planning advice related to contract terms and/or conditions to mitigate adverse tax consequences in connection with future activities.
- Work with internal groups (accounting, IT, supply chain, sourcing and legal) to ensure tax structures are properly established and maintained.
- Monitor the Company’s transfer pricing policies and related documentation, including coordination of annual transfer pricing studies.
- Research new and proposed legislative changes that may impact the Company’s tax positions both foreign and domestic.
- Work with others in the business, including Originations, Servicing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and IT, to ensure customer-related taxes are billed and collected properly.
- Prepare and present regularly to executive management and the Audit Committee on tax matters.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date policies and procedures governing the tax function.
- Implement, document, and maintain appropriate internal controls over the tax function.
- Research tax issues related to acquisitions, restructuring, and/or tax advantageous structures.
- Manage a team of tax professionals, including a team of income tax specialists and a team of indirect tax specialists.
What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- CPA or law degree required.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years Tax experience
- Financial Services and/or Big Four or similar experience required.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of previous management experience required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, foreign, and local tax regulations
- Proficiency in US GAAP guidance on accounting for income taxes
- Proven track record demonstrating the ability to develop and manage an efficient department.
- Ability to lead, manage, develop, and motivate a team of staff members.
- Time management skills with strong attention to details; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet assigned project deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment.
- Advanced Excel skills

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

- Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a from a remote or hybrid location near one of our corporate offices.

The starting salary for this position is $186,600-$248,800 and may increase to $310,900 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 30% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) and Long Term Incentive (LTI) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
