Job description

Tombras, a 400+ person, full-service, national advertising agency with a digital mindset, is seeking a Media Strategy Supervisor.

As a Media Strategy Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for developing a cross-channel media strategy across digital and traditional channels while leading a team through implementation, reporting and optimization of campaigns designed to exceed client expectations. In addition to being an expert media strategist, the Integrated Media Supervisor is a strong leader, capable of effectively leading a team of media planners and buyers and coordinating plans with the Traditional Media, Integrated Social, Integrated Search, Digital and Analytics departments.  

Where you’ll be working: Toronto, ON area

What you'll be doing:
  • Assist the AMD in setting overall strategic direction for digital and traditional media campaigns and determine performance metrics to track campaign success.
  • Lead a planning/buying team to support campaign development and execution.
  • Integrate digital and traditional media campaign recommendations in a seamless way that marries the various disciplines into one cohesive strategy that meets client goals.
  • Coordinate with members of the investment teams and include their tactics in the overall media mix, as needed.
  • Build and update media flowcharts and manage buy authorizations.
  • Oversee the implementation and activation of client-approved media campaigns.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Analytics team to ensure proper tracking of campaigns.
  • Responsible for pre and post launch quality assurance and campaign optimization.
  • Deliver reporting that uncovers actionable insights into campaign performance.
  • Provide thought leadership by staying abreast of media research and industry trends.
  • Remain dedicated to the personal growth and training/mentoring of your team.

  • What you bring:
  • 7+ years of agency experience specific to media planning and buying with a working knowledge of paid search, paid social and programmatic
  • At least 2+ years of team management and cross-department collaboration
  • Experience and knowledge of Canadian media markets
  • Proficiency with DCM is required and experience with PRISMA and NetSuite is a plus
  • Solid understanding of digital tracking concepts and trafficking process is required
  • Creativity in developing strategic media plans and critical thinking to provide rationale
  • Capable of seeing the “big picture” – not just by campaign but also by client
  • Accountable for meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic (self-starter) that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
