Summary:

The Commercial Sales Trainer will develop and implement various sales training programs for commercial sales representatives. Although this position will develop and implement training initiatives for existing commercial salespeople to elevate skill set and knowledge base, this role will focus primarily on tasks related to onboarding and training new branch salespeople. The Commercial Sales Trainer will work closely with the Director of Commercial Sales to create and execute the necessary sales training content.

What You'll Do:

  • Onboarding & Training New Sales Hires:
    • Trains and transitions newly hired members of the Commercial sales team within the Vector branch business unit.
    • Ensures new Commercial sales hires get consistent baseline training in their first 90 days on approved Vector product, internal processes and procedures, prospecting targets, pricing, and other aspects of the job deemed critical for success.
    • Works closely with Branch Leadership.
    • Ability to evaluate sales rep’s needs based on performance metrics and regular one-to-one interactions.
  • Ongoing Training Existing Sales Team:
    • Collaborates with the Commercial Sales Director on best practices for existing sales representatives, initiatives, and new products/technology.
    • Engaged with existing sales representatives to determine training priorities.
  • Vendor Relations:
    • Communicates with key approved vendors on training support documents, videos and individual or team trainings.
    • Determines strategic support needed from vendors to enhance our sales organization.
  • External Training Evaluation:
    • This candidate should be an expert in the field of sales training.
    • It is expected they stay current with training trends; especially with the changing dynamics in the workplace that impact our salespeople and customers.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency Required, BS preferred
  • Minimum of 3-years Sales or Training experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent Communication skills to include written and verbal
  • Technical knowledge; industry experience a plus
