The Director, External Innovation - Medical Technologies will be a key member of Telix’ business development and alliance management team. This role will be responsible, operating in close collaboration with Telix’ medical technologies team, for the entire life cycle of business development and external innovation projects, including identifying, evaluating, structuring, negotiating and executing business development initiatives across Telix’ medical technologies business unit. This role will also facilitate management of existing and future partnerships, in close coordination with Telix’ alliance management function, and will participate in strategy refinement within the medical technologies business unit, with focus on surgical solutions, digital products and dosimetry applications.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in defining and executing the company's business development strategy within the medical technologies business unit and in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Collaborate with Telix’s Medical Technology, Research & Innovation (R&I), Development and Clinical Programs teams and external advisors to identify areas of strategic interest, and partnership, licensing or acquisition opportunities.
  • Lead identification and evaluation of medical technology product, platform and partnership opportunities from discovery through commercial stage, and the prioritization process to focus on opportunities of highest value.
  • Effectively and independently manage cross functional due diligence, internal presentation/approval and negotiation process, along with closing value-adding transactions.
  • Take a leading role in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and licensing agreements.
  • Facilitate management of existing and future partnerships, in close coordination with Telix’ alliance management function.
  • Participate in overall strategy refinement and expansion of Telix’ external innovation ecosystem within the medical technologies business unit.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and forums, promoting the company as a leader in the medical technology space.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on business development, external innovation and partnership management activities and progress.

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree required, with PhD and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years medical technologies industry experience with a proven track record of continuous career advancement and promotions, demonstrating exceptional performance required
  • 5+ years of overall business development experience in medical technologies company environments, with significant experience in oncology, required.
  • Extensive deal sheet including R&D partnerships and technology licensing transactions required
  • Experience in the radiopharmaceutical and/or molecular imaging sectors strongly preferred.
  • Experience with M&A transactions preferred.
