Position Overview

The Project Manager, CMS will play an active role in overseeing and assisting with all aspects of water and sewer infrastructure construction, maintenance, and repairs. This position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to accurately assessing project costs, preparing competitive bids, and supporting project teams throughout the construction and maintenance phases. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with equipment operating, pipe laying, leak repair, line replacement, lift station rehab, grass cutting, equipment operation, manual labor, electrical controls, and handling heavy objects. Your leadership and expertise will contribute to the efficient and safe operation of our treatment facilities.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage all construction & maintenance work in all states covered by CWS. 
  • Build and manage a team of field technicians who perform new construction, repair, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity. 
  • Manage P&L for all Construction work performed by your crews.  
  • Travel to job sites to ensure work is being performed properly.  
  • Train team members and develop leaders on your team.  
  • Meet with other leaders as needed to discuss the company plans, needs by state, and financials.  
  • Utilize industry-specific knowledge and expertise to accurately estimate costs for water and wastewater construction and maintenance projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids in response to project invitations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed cost estimates and proposals that meet client requirements and objectives.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project estimates, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance project feasibility.
  • Source and evaluate vendors and subcontractors, obtain competitive quotes, and negotiate pricing and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, and related documentation, and provide regular updates and reports to management and project teams as required.
  • Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime. 
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule and oversee necessary repairs. 
  • Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and performing field duties. 
  • Ensure that the team follows safety procedures and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Comply with environmental regulations and company policies to protect our natural resources. 
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with supervisors and team members. 
  • Report any issues, adjustments, or equipment malfunctions promptly to the relevant authorities. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workflow and project success. 
  • Lead and assist with estimating work, collaborate with other estimators to provide the best opportunity for the team.

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma, Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience. 
  • Additional technical or vocational training in construction, water treatment or related fields is advantageous. 
  • Familiarity with water treatment processes and the safe handling of chemicals for treatment purposes. 
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and materials. 
  • Proficiency in remote control operation and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new equipment and technologies. 
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness in a field environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. 
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to maximize productivity. 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing work schedules when necessary. 
  • Display flexibility in handling unexpected challenges and adjusting priorities. 
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
