This is a remote position.

Job Overview: 

The AU RTO Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the RTO adheres to relevant compliance standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves monitoring training activities, managing reporting requirements, auditing assessments, and reviewing policies and procedures. The Compliance Officer will also lead and implement compliance projects aimed at continuous improvement within the organization.

Job Description: 

  • Compliance Monitoring:
    • Oversee and monitor compliance with training activities, ensuring that they meet regulatory and internal standards.
    • Manage and fulfill reporting requirements related to compliance and training operations.
  • Assessment Auditing:
    • Conduct audits of assessments to verify their accuracy, fairness, and adherence to established guidelines and standards.
  • Policy and Procedure Review:
    • Review and update organizational policies and procedures to ensure they are current and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Implementation of Compliance Projects:
    • Develop and implement compliance projects focused on continuous improvement, addressing any areas for enhancement and ensuring effective implementation.


  • Requirements
    Relevant experience managing the compliance functions of an RTO
    Practical knowledge and understanding of the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) the RTO Standards (and itsโ€™ predecessors), and their effective implementation within the operating framework of a VET provider.
    Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (current version) and Diploma in Quality Auditing/Diploma in VET highly desirable
    Experience in preparing for, and participating in ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) regulatory and state based monitoring/ quality audits.
    Knowledge and experience of state training authority contractual requirements specifically in Western Australia
    Demonstrated understanding and experience with the following reporting requirements:
    • AVETMISS (Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard)
    • Total VET Activity
    • Quality Indicator, and
    • Competency Completion
    Familiarity with Student Management Systems especially VETtrak is highly desirable
