This position is based in San Antonio, TX.
What you'll do:
Under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, Product Management Analyst Interns will contribute to Personal Lines State Management or National Product Management by performing the following tasks:
- Performs analyses to influence strategy and tactics to improve the profitability and growth for personal lines insurance products like Auto, Homeowners, and Renters for assigned state(s) or on the National Product team.
- Within defined guidelines and framework, monitors, analyzes and interprets data to evaluate profitability, competitiveness, and sales performance.
- Uses analytical and technical knowledge to identify and develop plans for business opportunities and challenges.
- Generates reports in Excel, Tableau, or other analysis tools to measure key performance measurements for personal insurance.
- Uses Snowflake, SAS, SQL, data cubes, or other data mining tools to gather data to inform root cause analysis of risk and compliance issues and business performance trends for assigned state(s) and lines of business.
- Develops knowledge of current state laws and regulatory environments for assigned states to ensure compliance with state requirements.
What you need to have:
To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2025 internship will start on May 28, 2025 and last through August 8, 2025.
- Graduation date cannot be prior to August 8, 2025
- Relevant experience conducting research, compiling, and analyzing data.
- Working experience with data querying tools and dashboards.
- Foundational level of knowledge in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
- Foundational and conceptual knowledge of the function/subject area and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required.
What sets you apart:
- Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Insurance, Business, Finance, Risk Management, Marketing, Economics, Data & Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
- Graduation date between August 2025 and July 2026
- Experience in Excel, SAS, SQL, Tableau, or other analytical or software tools through class projects, employment, or organizational roles
- Demonstrated leadership ability through previous internships, employment, extra-curricular activities, community service, or other involvement

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual hourly rate for this role may vary by location. The range for this position is: $23 - $27.
Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.
