About the Role

Forma is looking for an engineering leader to drive our core and  platform teams  which will directly support Forma’s best in class benefits experience to allow customers and members to access an easy-to-use and cutting-edge employee benefits platform. 

This role requires expertise in building out mission-critical systems at scale that can evolve quickly with our rapidly growing business. This is a fully remote position and will report to Forma’s VP, Engineering.

You Will 
  • Advocate for your team emphasizing career growth and personal development

  • Scale your organization by partnering with recruiting to attract and retain top talent 

  • Define and lead the technical roadmap for our core platform

  • Guide your team to make sound architecture decisions and create an environment where technical innovation thrives

  • Drive engineering excellence by inspiring and empowering engineers

  • Collaborate with cross-functional  peers such as Product and Design to set goals and define business strategy 

  • Prioritize execution and support your team in delivering high-quality results 

  • Drive goal-setting with your team and how them accountable for results

  • Create and iterate on processes to increase the effectiveness of your teams


Preferred Skills
  • Have 7+ years of engineering leadership experience

  • Have experience architecting and executing large-scale, performant systems that are critical to the business

  • Skilled at working to build alignment, drive decision making, and communicate transparently

  • Able to marry long-term thinking with short-term action

  • You have a genuine passion for building platforms in a rigorous, measurable and scalable way

  • You have a strong understanding of security and compliance best practices in software development, especially from a money movement perspective

  • You are committed to cultivating an inclusive team culture

  • You have a deep understanding of Agile fundamentals and the mental models that promote strong execution

  • You have managed geographically distributed teams
