Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Data Annotations Manager to join our AI R&D team to build AI and NLP based solutions to deliver intelligent features in our products. As a Data Annotations Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing data annotation process, KPIs and provide instructions, coaching and performance management to junior annotators. Ideal candidate will have strong experience leading data annotation projects involving unstructured text, project management, people management and cross organization communication.

We are open to US remote however we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Data Annotators to create high quality labeled datasets for training, tuning, and evaluating AI models
  • Work with team of talented annotators, data scientists, product managers and engineers on diverse annotation projects that enable use of AI, NLP and LLMs for document classification, entity extraction, summarization, Q&A etc.
  • Define and manage scope of multiple annotation projects to deliver high quality annotated data
  • Manage day to day execution of annotation process & workflows
  • Provide training, instructions, coaching and performance management to data labelers
  • Resource planning and allocation
  • Establish annotation team goals, success metrics, progress measures and result reporting to stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with AI research and development team to identify data requirements and labeling strategies
  • Foster a culture of high performance, quality and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience working on data annotations and data preparation for AI/ML use cases
  • Hands on experience with data annotation tools such Scale.ai, Labelbox or Appen
  • Understanding of data annotation tools, processes, quality metrics and best practices
  • Strong team management & communication skills
  • Experience working with large unstructured text data sets
  • Understanding and familiarity with business documents such as financial statements, legal contracts
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze and understand new datasets
  • Ability to interact with internal/external clients/customers in a professional manner
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members and product groups
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects is necessary, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position.  Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

$86,850 - $150,400
